(VAN) By October, fruit and vegetable export turnover is estimated to exceed 7 billion USD. This marks the second consecutive year that the sector has surpassed this milestone.
According to Viet Nam General Customs, in the first half of October 2025, fruit and vegetable exports reached 459.617 million USD, bringing the sector’s total export value from the beginning of the year to mid-October to nearly 6.6 billion USD.
Based on export performance during the first half of October, the Viet Nam Fruit and Vegetable Association estimates that the total export value for the entire month will reach 919.234 million USD. This represents a 30% decrease compared to the previous month (September 2025 recorded 1.313 billion USD), but a sharp 77% increase compared to the same period last year (October 2024 recorded 519.801 million USD).

It is estimated that in the first 10 months of 2025, Viet Nam’s fruit and vegetable exports reached approximately 7.049 billion USD, up 14.4% compared to the same period last year (6.16 billion USD in the first 10 months of 2024).
With export turnover exceeding 7 billion USD after 10 months, the fruit and vegetable sector is now poised to surpass the 8 billion USD mark for the first time ever.
Imports of fruits and vegetables have also increased in value this year. During the first 10 months of 2025, import turnover is estimated at 2.13 billion USD, up 13.9% from the same period last year (1.87 billion USD in the first 10 months of 2024).
Overall, in the first 10 months of this year, Viet Nam’s fruit and vegetable industry continued to record a trade surplus, estimated at 4.919 billion USD.
