As per the General Department of Customs’ data, Vietnam’s tea exports experienced a recovery in October 2024, totaling 14,470 tons and valued at more than USD 26 million. Comparing September 2024 to October 2023, this represents a 10.6% increase in volume and a 13.7% increase in value, as well as a 20.2% increase in volume and a 19.9% increase in value.
The average export price of tea in October 2024 was USD 1,817 per ton, a 2.9% increase from September 2024 but a minor decrease of 0.3% from October 2023.
Vietnam’s tea exports during the first 10 months of 2024 totaled more than 120,000 tons, with a value of nearly USD 212 million. This was a 28.3% increase in volume and a 30.3% increase in value when compared to the same period in 2023.
Compared to the same period in 2023, the average export price of tea in the first 10 months of 2024 was USD 1,762 per ton, a 1.5% increase.
In comparison to 2023, tea exports to significant markets increased during the same period. Exports to Pakistan experienced a 17.6% increase in volume and a 27.2% increase in value. The volume and value of the Taiwan market increased by 2.5% and 6.7%, respectively. Exports to China experienced a substantial increase of 249.5% in volume and 114.5% in value. Indonesia’s volume and value both increased by 56.2% and 60.3%, respectively. In contrast, Iraq’s exports experienced a significant decline of 49.5% in volume and 46.3% in value.
