Pepper prices on October 16 globally
Globally, pepper prices on October 16 show no new fluctuations.
The price of black pepper from Lampung, Indonesia remains at $ 6,744/ton. Meanwhile, the price of white pepper from Muntok, Indonesia stays at $ 9,233/ton.
Black pepper from Kuching ASTA in Malaysia is priced at $ 8,700/ton, while the white pepper ASTA from this country is trading at $ 11,200/ton.
In Brazil, black pepper ASTA 570 is being traded at $ 6,750/ton.
In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper 500 g/l is $ 6,500/ton, and black pepper 550 g/l is priced at $ 6,800/ton. The export price of white pepper is currently at $ 9,850/ton.
Thus, global pepper prices on 10/16/2024, remain flat compared to the previous day.
Pepper prices on October 16 domestically
In the domestic market, pepper prices on October 16 have slightly increased compared to the previous day. Specifically:
- Dak Lak continues to purchase pepper at VND 144,000/kg.
- Pepper prices in Dak Nong remain at VND 144,000/kg.
- Prices in Gia Lai have risen by VND 500, with pepper trading at VND 143,500/kg.
- Similarly, traders in Dong Nai are also buying pepper at VND 143,500/kg.
- In Ba Ria – Vung Tau, pepper prices have increased by VND 500, reaching VND 144,000/kg.
- Traders in Binh Phuoc are purchasing pepper at VND 144,000/kg.
Domestic pepper prices today remain stable in Dak Lak and Dak Nong. Meanwhile, other key regions have seen a slight increase of VND 500.
According to some predictions, Vietnam’s 2025 pepper harvest will mainly take place in February, with some areas extending into March and April, which is 1-2 months later than in previous years.
The delay is attributed to prolonged drought, causing Vietnam’s pepper supply to become increasingly limited.
Additionally, with competition from Indonesia’s new pepper crop, it is forecasted that the domestic market will still not show signs of improvement, as China continues to increase its purchases of pepper from Indonesia.
Thus, domestic pepper prices on 10/16/2024, are trading around VND 143,500 – 144,000/kg.
