Live pig prices on October 31 in the North
The live pig market in the North has not shown any new fluctuations compared to yesterday.
Accordingly, pig prices in Ninh Binh and Lao Cai are both trading at VND 61,000/kg, the lowest in the region.
Meanwhile, traders in Hung Yen and Thai Binh continue to purchase at VND 63,000/kg, the highest in the region.

Live pig prices on October 31 in the Central and Central Highlands
The live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands regions remains unchanged compared to yesterday.

Traders in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, and Lam Dong maintain prices at VND 61,000/kg, the highest in the region.

The live pig market in the Southern region remains stable compared to yesterday.

US: 1st detection of H5N1 avian influenza in pigs
On October 30, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) confirmed that a pig on a farm in Oregon tested positive for H5N1 avian influenza, marking the first time the country has reported an outbreak in pigs.
The spread of avian influenza in pigs is now a major concern. The USDA stated that the supply of pork in the U.S. is not affected by the case of avian influenza in Oregon, and the risk of community spread remains low.
The farm where the avian influenza was detected in Oregon has been quarantined, and other animals there are being monitored for illness.
