According to data from China’s General Administration of Customs, China imported a total of 712,000 tons of natural and synthetic rubber (including latex rubber) in November, up by 3.9% compared to 685,000 tons in the same period last year. This marks the second consecutive month of growth for this market.
However, from January to November, China imported a total of 6.5 million tons of natural and synthetic rubber, a 10.1% decrease compared to 7.3 million tons in the same period of 2023.
Policymakers stated that China will adopt a “moderately loose” monetary policy and “more proactive” fiscal measures.
However, according to published data, China’s rubber exports sharply declined, and imports unexpectedly fell in November, a concerning sign for the world’s second-largest economy as U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is set to return to the White House.
Thus, global rubber prices on December 12, 2024, showed mixed movements compared to the previous day.
