Can ThoMr. Phan Van covered with Na garden with an area of 7 hectares, on average each fruit weighing 500-700 grams, yielding over 300 tons, collecting more than 10 billion VND per year.

In the early days of February, he was closed, 62 years old, in Long Hung Ward, O Mon District, Can Tho City, busy with nearly 10 workers in care, pollination, fertilizer, spraying, watering, harvesting on the area The product of 7 hectares of Na Thai (Na Queen) is the age of fruit.

“This Tet holiday has about five tons of fruit supplied to the market to serve people on the five fruits, for 50,000 VND per kg. “, he said and explained the high price until mid -April of the lunar calendar because the supply of Na Queen at this time was mainly in the West, not in touch with other regions. The rainy months are low, the price is low (30,000-35,000 VND per kg) and begins to inch up in the sunny season.

Wiping the sweat on the face, the farmer had a solid body, walking quickly to say that the alluvial land of this Hau river pair was very good, suitable for many crops. However, like many other farmers, his household has decades of planting watermelon, grapefruit, longan … for income is only enough to eat and have a bit of excess, while growing rice is also hit but not enough to spend in home.

In 2014, with the introduction of an acquaintance, he covered the capital of the Western seedlings in Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province to buy 250 Na Queen seedlings on intercropping in the grapefruit garden of 7,000 m2 (7 attacks) of the family . He was also the first farmer in the locality to plant this new fruit tree, before the suspicion and curiosity from many others.

After two years of care, the tree began to give fruit, but because he did not know how to handle the fruit as he wanted, he only earned the first 5 tons of products for the first price for 55,000 VND per kg.

“Many other fruit trees just need to use chemical drugs to stimulate flowering, fruit beans for high efficiency. But for Na Queen can not use this method but must have pruning techniques, creating canopy and supporting support Pollal by manually deciding on production and efficiency, “he said. The garden owners themselves learn to learn on the internet, combine to learn from experience from the Northern Na gardens, based on the realistic conditions in the locality that offers their own handling.

“The harvest time and the stage of supporting pollination of the key factor for the success or failure of the crop,” Mr. Co affirmed and said that every year it needs to be calculated for Na Na, harvesting from the moon of January to the middle of In April of the lunar calendar will sell high prices.

With pollination techniques for Na, this farmer chose the chalk as blooming flowers, yellowish white, the male has turned creamy white, the chalk is about to crack. Then he used the syringe to get pollen seeds, bring pollination for the newly bloomed cotton, the new petals separated to get fruit.

“Must pump the syringe and rotate evenly for pollen to stick to the flower, about a week after the form of young fruit,” he said, said that due to the focused pollination, the fruit was big, balanced, very beautiful, weight 400-700 grams per fruit. Na from pollination to harvest takes 95-110 days. The common harmful insects in Na are mealybugs and red spiders. He must check regularly for early treatment, avoiding fruit attacks leading to deformities and quality reduction.

By doing this, next year the second harvest, the garden owner earns 12 tons, the price of 60,000 VND per kg. Good quality products, delicious, traders to the place to buy at high prices, supply to the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City markets.

After that, his family decided to gradually expand the planting area for this high efficiency to 5 and 7 hectares of land, previously grown watermelon and grapefruit of the family.

The subsequent crops of productivity and harvested output increased to 100, 200 tons. “In 2024, when all 4,500 trees for fruit, my family harvested 250 tons. With the average selling price of 40,000-45,000 VND per kg, the amount collected about 10 billion,” he said after deducting expenditure. Investment fee (variety, fertilizer, pesticide, labor …) is about 400 million VND per hectare, he earns more than 6 billion dong.

Currently, this farmer has rented two more hectares of land from local people to continue planting Na Queen, raising the area to 9 hectares. At the same time, he also sells seedlings and technical guidance to local farmers. In the near future, he aims to apply clean agricultural production measures to have products that meet the export standards …

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Chairman of Long Hung Ward Farmers Association, said that the locality has more than 1,100 hectares of agricultural land, mainly growing fruit trees. In particular, there are more than 30 hectares of Na Queen planting very good effect, surpassing mango, longan, oranges and 5-10 times higher than rice cultivation. Each land for growing na for profit of 30-40 million VND per year while growing rice is less than 5 million. Among these, Mr. Co is the pioneer in planting Na Queen varieties with the highest productivity and efficiency.

According to Mr. Thang, this crop brings high profits to farmers and stable consumption markets. Advantages and soil conditions, localities are encouraging the establishment of cooperative groups, mobilizing people to invest in developing in the direction of clean agriculture, registering for planting areas, building brands to be exported and exported to. expand consumption markets, increase profits for farmers.
