Coffee prices on March 19 globally

On the global market, coffee prices today show contrasting movements between the two main types: Robusta and Arabica. While Robusta prices saw a slight decline on the London exchange, Arabica prices edged up on the New York exchange.

Robusta Coffee Prices (London)

• May 2025 contract: $ 5,469/ton, down $ 20/ton (-0.36%).
• July 2025 contract: $ 5,452/ton, down $ 17/ton (-0.31%).
• September 2025 contract: $ 5,420/ton, down $ 15/ton.

Arabica Coffee Prices (New York)

• May 2025 contract: 383.85 cents/lb, up 0.3 cents/lb (+0.08%).
• July 2025 contract: 377.60 cents/lb, up 0.25 cents/lb (+0.07%).
• September 2025 contract: 371.10 cents/lb, up 0.20 cents/lb.

Reasons behind global coffee price fluctuations

• Global supply challenges: Persistent drought conditions in Brazil—the world’s largest coffee producer—continue to impact yields, pushing Arabica prices higher.
• Stronger Brazilian Real: The Brazilian Real has reached its highest level in four and a half months, reducing farmers’ incentive to export and supporting Arabica prices.
• Rising Robusta inventories: According to reports from ICE (Intercontinental Exchange), Robusta stock levels have increased slightly, putting downward pressure on prices in the London market.

Coffee prices on March 19 domestically

In the domestic market, coffee prices today continue to rise sharply, ranging from VND 132,700 – 134,000/kg. This is the highest price in many months, bringing good profits to farmers.

Coffee prices in the Central Highlands region have continued to increase compared to yesterday, with a rise of VND 1,000 – 1,700/kg. The current average purchase price stands at VND 134,000/kg.

Specifically, today’s coffee prices are as follows: Dak Lak at VND 134,000/kg, Lam Dong at VND 132,700/kg, Gia Lai at VND 134,000/kg, and Dak Nong at VND 134,000/kg.
