Agricultural e-commerce platform Farmers Business Network has appointed a former Bayer executive as its chief financial officer.
Guillaume Luebke will take over the position effective July 1, according to the company. Luebke spent 20 years at Bayer holding various finance positions in the company’s crop sciences division before being named CFO of Bayer’s Environmental Science Professional business, which was sold off in 2022 and renamed Envu.
“Guillaume is a great fit for FBN and his global experience positions us to continue our growth as a world leader in ag tech, fintech and sustainability,” Diego Casanello, CEO of FBN, said in a statement. “We look forward to Guillaume joining our team and helping us strategically drive the organization forward.”
Farmers Business Network has shaken up its leadership ranks in recent months, naming Casanello as CEO in February as the company positions itself as a one-stop shop for farmers looking for crop protection products, loans, agronomy advice and more.
“FBN is on the cutting edge of ag tech, and I’m looking forward to working with such a talented team,” Luebke said in a statement. “FBN is showing that technology can empower farmers to achieve even greater success.”
Following his tenure at Bayer, Luebke stayed on as CFO at the newly sold Envu, which handles pest and weed control for non-agricultural applications. Bayer transferred nearly 900 employees as part of the sale.
Luebke has experience working across four continents and has led teams “in a wide range of different ag and economic landscapes,” according to FBN’s announcement. He resides in Raleigh, North Carolina, and is fluent in four languages.
