Today, domestic pepper prices recorded a sharp decline of VND 2,000 – 2,500/kg compared to the previous session. Currently, prices range from VND 159,000 to VND 160,000/kg, with the highest prices observed in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces.

Specific market movements in different localities:

• Dak Lak: This province experienced a sharp decrease of VND 2,000/kg, bringing prices down to VND 160,000/kg. This remains the highest price in the Central Highlands region.
• Dak Nong: Pepper prices here also dropped by VND 2,000/kg, now trading at VND 160,000/kg, the same as in Dak Lak.
• Gia Lai: A decrease of VND 2,500/kg was recorded, bringing prices down to VND 159,000/kg.
• Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai: Prices in these two provinces fell by VND 2,000/kg, now at VND 159,000/kg.
• Ba Ria – Vung Tau: Pepper prices declined by VND 2,000/kg, currently trading at VND 159,000/kg.

Pepper prices on February 13 globally

In the global market, pepper prices have remained stable in major producing countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Brazil, and Malaysia. However, certain varieties of white and black pepper saw a slight decrease of 0.18% – 0.19%.

Key highlights of the global pepper market:

• Indonesia: The price of Lampung black pepper and Muntok white pepper decreased slightly by 0.19% and 0.18%, respectively. This reflects a market-driven adjustment, while Indonesia’s supply remains stable.
• Brazil: The price of ASTA 570 black pepper remains high at $ 6,700/ton, unchanged from yesterday. This price remains competitive in the international market.
• Malaysia: The price of ASTA black and white pepper remains unchanged at $ 9,000/ton and $ 11,600/ton, respectively.
• Vietnam: Vietnam’s export prices remain stable at $ 6,500 – 6,650/ton for black pepper and $ 9,550/ton for white pepper. Vietnam continues to be the world’s largest pepper exporter, holding a dominant market share in key regions such as the U.S., EU, and China.

Export situation: According to the International Pepper Community (IPC), Brazil exported 4,339 tons of pepper in January 2025, generating $ 27.1 million in revenue. This represents a 28.1% decline in volume but a 36.9% increase in value compared to the same period last year. Vietnam remains Brazil’s largest importer, accounting for 28.6% of Brazil’s total exports.
