Pepper prices on May 8 globally
Globally, pepper prices as of May 8 are showing a downward trend.
Specifically, the price of black pepper Lampung from Indonesia dropped slightly by 0.34% to $7,322/ton. Meanwhile, the price of white pepper Muntok fell by 0.37% to $9,917/ton.
Black pepper Kuching ASTA from Malaysia is priced at $9,200/ton (down 1.08%), while Malaysian white pepper ASTA remains steady at $11,900/ton.
In the Brazilian market, black pepper ASTA 570 is traded at $ 6,800/ton.
In Vietnam, export black pepper grade 500 g/l is priced at $6,700/ton, while the 550 g/l grade stands at $6,800/ton. Export white pepper is currently at $9,700/ton.
Global pepper prices today are slightly down in Indonesia and for Malaysia’s black pepper. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s export pepper prices and Brazil’s black pepper remain unchanged.
Thus, global pepper prices on May 8, 2025, remain stable compared to yesterday.

In Dak Lak, pepper continues to be traded at VND 155,000/kg today.
In Dak Nong, the price remains steady at VND 155,000/kg.
In Gia Lai, prices dropped another VND 500, trading at VND 153,000/kg.
In Dong Nai, traders reduced purchase prices to VND 153,000/kg, down VND 1,000.
Similarly, in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, pepper prices also fell to VND 153,000/kg.
In Binh Phuoc, traders lowered their buying price to VND 153,000/kg, down another VND 1,000.
In the first four months of the year, Vietnam exported a total of 74,250 tons of various types of pepper, including 63,124 tons of black pepper and 11,126 tons of white pepper. Total export turnover reached $510.6 million, with black pepper accounting for $423.2 million and white pepper $87.4 million. Compared to the same period in 2024, export volume decreased by 10.6%, but export turnover surged by 45.0%.
