According to experts, the global pepper market is facing supply shortages due to unfavourable weather conditions in major producing countries such as Brazil and Indonesia. Pepper prices on March 29 domestically
In the domestic market, pepper prices on March 29, 2025, remain stable at high levels. The average purchasing price in key regions is recorded at VND 159,400/kg. Specifically, prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong are currently at VND 160,000/kg, while other provinces such as Gia Lai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, and Dong Nai are trading at VND 159,000/kg.
Assessment of domestic pepper prices
According to experts, domestic pepper prices are expected to continue rising in the near future, especially as demand from major markets such as the U.S. and the EU remains high. Although pepper production in key growing regions such as the Central Highlands is stable, farmers are still holding onto their stocks, limiting sales and helping maintain high prices.
Many export companies are also increasing their purchases to fulfil international orders, particularly for the EU and U.S. markets. Although this year’s harvest may yield higher output compared to the previous season, farmers’ reluctance to sell keeps the actual market supply tight.
