(VAN) Rice prices on 09/11/2024, have increased slightly by VND 200 for rice. As for exports, the price of Vietnamese rice remains stable.
Rice prices on September 11 domestically
The rice prices market domestically shows positive movements, with increased demand for rice and a slight rise in prices.
Rice prices today are stable currently at:
- An Giang sticky rice (fresh) remains at VND 7,000 – 7,200/kg. Long An sticky rice (fresh) is around VND 7,400 – 7,600/kg.
- Long An sticky rice (dry) is priced at VND 7,000 – 7,900/kg. IR 4625 sticky rice (fresh) is steady at VND 7,400 – 7,600/kg.
- IR 50404 rice is around VND 7,600 – 7,900/kg. Dai Thom 8 rice is at VND 8,300 – 8,500/kg.
- OM 5451 rice is trading at VND 8,000 – 8,200/kg. OM 18 rice is priced at VND 8,300 – 8,500/kg.
- OM 380 rice remains at VND 7,600 – 7,800/kg. Japanese rice is steady at VND 7,800 – 8,000/kg.
- Nang Nhen (dry) rice is trading at VND 20,000/kg. Nang Hoa 9 rice is priced at VND 6,900 – 7,000/kg.
Today, rice prices have increased slightly, with a good supply available but slow purchasing at warehouses. In An Cu (Soc Trang), the supply is adequate, with a lot of low-quality rice; warehouses are selecting high-quality rice, leading to higher prices. In An Giang, warehouse purchases are slow, and prices remain stable depending on the type. Accordingly:
- The price of IR 504 Summer-Autumn raw rice is VND 10,800 – 11,000/kg (up by VND 200); the price of IR 504 processed rice is VND 13,100 – 13,300/kg.
- The price of sticky rice is VND 16,000 – 20,000/kg; regular rice is VND 15,000 – 16,000/kg; and Nang Nhen rice is VND 28,000/kg.
- The price of Thai fragrant long-grain rice is VND 20,000 – 21,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice is VND 18,000 – 20,000/kg; and Huong Lai rice remains at VND 20,000/kg.
- The price of common white rice is VND 17,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice is VND 20,000/kg; Soc rice is VND 18,500/kg; and Soc Thai rice is VND 20,000/kg.
- The price of Taiwanese fragrant rice is VND 21,000/kg, and Japanese rice is VND 22,000/kg.
- The price of OM 5451 broken rice is VND 8,600 – 8,800/kg, and dry bran is VND 6,600 – 6,700/kg.
In the export market, the price of 100% broken rice is $ 452/ton; standard 5% broken rice is $ 571/ton; and 25% broken rice is $ 534/ton.
Thus, the domestic rice prices on 09/11/2024, have seen a slight increase.
Prime Minister orders rice supply for residents in flood-isolated areas.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed Official Dispatch No. 90/CD-TTg dated September 9, 2024, regarding the urgent provision of food, necessities, and supplies for residents affected by Typhoon No. 3.
The dispatch has been sent to the Ministers of National Defense, Public Security, and Finance; as well as the Secretaries and Chairpersons of the People’s Committees of the provinces of Lao Cai, Hoa Binh, Son La, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, and Lang Son.
Typhoon No. 3 and its aftermath have caused widespread rainfall in Northern Vietnam, particularly affecting the mountainous and midland areas, resulting in significant damage to lives and property and severely impacting production and daily life.
The Prime Minister has directed the Minister of National Defense and the Minister of Public Security to instruct relevant agencies to actively and proactively coordinate with affected localities to urgently transport food, necessities, dry provisions, instant noodles, drinking water, and clean water. The Secretaries and Chairpersons of the People’s Committees of the provinces and cities are instructed to direct relevant agencies to work with ministries to provide assistance to isolated areas and people affected by Typhoon No. 3 as quickly as possible.
The Minister of Finance is to release 100 tons of rice per ministry from national reserves to be transported to rice-deficient areas affected by Typhoon No. 3.
Local authorities are to promptly repair and restore healthcare facilities damaged by storms, floods, and rain to provide timely medical treatment for the injured and maintain public health.
