On the global market, prices on both the Tocom and SHFE exchanges are on the decline.
As of the latest survey, RSS3 prices at the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) for January 2025 delivery dropped by ¥ 2.5, settling at ¥ 341/kg. Meanwhile, the March 2025 contract fell by an additional ¥ 1.2, reaching ¥ 347.90/kg.
At the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), natural rubber futures for January 2025 delivery plunged by CNY 295, to CNY 1 8,150/ton. The March 2025 contract dropped by as much as CNY 315, standing at CNY 18,300/ton.
Global rubber prices are declining today on the SHFE (Shanghai) exchange.
According to financial data provider Tonghuashun Information, market volatility for natural rubber has significantly increased since December, with both macroeconomic and fundamental factors having a major impact.
In the short term, disruptions to rubber tapping in southern Thailand, low stock levels in China, and optimism surrounding China’s upcoming economic meeting are expected to support the market.
The Thai Meteorological Department, the world’s leading rubber producer, has warned of heavy rain that could cause flooding between December 12 and 16.
China, the largest rubber consumer, is set to hold the Central Economic Work Conference this week, where key policy priorities will be discussed, including the annual growth target for the coming year.
Chinese leaders and policymakers are considering allowing the yuan to weaken in 2025 as they prepare for President Trump’s second term, reflecting Beijing’s recognition that stronger economic stimulus measures will be needed to cope with the possibility of increased trade sanctions from Trump.

Rubber prices on December 13 domestically
On the domestic market, rubber prices are generally stable compared to yesterday.
According to the latest listed prices, the raw rubber price at Mang Yang Company remains between VND 434 – 438/TSC, while mixed rubber is purchased around VND 387 – 441/DRC.
At Ba Ria Rubber Company, the price of fresh latex is between VND 447 – 457/TSC (an increase of VND 3), with frozen DRC latex (35-44%) priced at VND 13,500/kg; raw latex is priced between VND 16,700 – 18,000/kg.
The latest quoted price from Phu Rieng Rubber Company ranges from VND 425/DRC for mixed rubber to VND 465/TSC for fresh latex.
