(VAN) Rubber prices on May 9, 2025, on the global market fluctuated wildly. Meanwhile, domestic latex prices remain steady, ranging from VND 397 to 462/TSC.
Rubber prices on May 9 globally
On the global market, rubber prices continue to fluctuate in mixed directions.
At the time of the survey, RSS3 rubber on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) for May 2025 delivery increased by ¥3.8 (1.3%), reaching ¥ 302.7/kg.
Meanwhile, on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), natural rubber for May 2025 delivery dropped sharply by CNY 220 (1.5%) to CNY 14,475/kg.
As for May 2025 futures in Thailand, prices remained flat at baht 73.36/kg.
Global rubber prices today are rising sharply in Japan but have declined in China.
Mr. George Valy, Chairman of the Indian Rubber Dealers Federation, stated that last year’s output reached 875,000 tons (8.75 lakh tons), and this year it could rise to 950,000 tons (9.5 lakh tons), particularly with the expansion of new tapping areas in the Northeast region.
He also noted that RSS IV rubber in India is hovering around ₹195, while block rubber on the international market has dropped to ₹150. However, this has not affected domestic sheet rubber prices, as tire manufacturing companies have recently made large purchases at favourable rates.
In Germany, luxury automaker BMW announced that it expects some tariffs on cars exported to the U.S. to be reduced starting in July, but warned that current tariff levels would have a “significant” impact on business performance in Q2/2025.
Thus, global rubber prices on May 9, 2025, have mainly increased compared to the previous day.

In the domestic market, rubber latex prices remained stable compared to yesterday.

Latest domestic and global rubber prices on May 9, 2025
According to the latest listed prices, raw rubber latex at Mang Yang Company is being purchased at VND 397–401/TSC; mixed coagulum rubber is being traded at around VND 359–409/DRC.
At Ba Ria Rubber Company, the purchase price for latex is VND 462/TSC. Coagulum rubber with a dry rubber content (DRC) of 35–44% is being bought at VND 13,600/kg, and raw material rubber is priced from VND 16,900 to 18,200/kg.
The most recent quotation from Phu Rieng Rubber Company shows mixed rubber priced at VND 400/DRC and latex at VND 440/TSC.
Thus, rubber prices in the domestic market on May 9, 2025, are still trading around VND 397–462/TSC.
