(VAN) Fifteen specialty coffee samples nationwide will compete in the second auction for the best specialty coffee in Vietnam, to be held in Hanoi.
Simexco Dak Lak Co., Ltd. announced on August 9 that it will host the second auction for the best specialty coffee in Vietnam. The event is scheduled for the morning of August 17 at 498 Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Co Nhue Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi city.
Simexco Dak Lak is a pioneering company in Vietnam’s coffee export sector. With a mission to increase the value of Vietnamese coffee in international markets, the company is dedicated to discovering and developing high-quality coffee products, as well as supporting and collaborating with farmers for sustainable development.
The coffee samples featured in this auction have been carefully selected from the 2024 Vietnam Amazing Cup competition. The auction will see the participation of 9 Robusta samples and 6 Arabica samples from coffee farmers and organizations across the country.
According to the leadership of Simexco Dak Lak, participants of the auction will bring a unique message from their farm, with the aim of elevating the value of Vietnamese Robusta coffee and delivering the finest coffee experiences to consumers. The journey of developing Vietnamese specialty coffee has been described as “swallows following the warm rays of sunshine.”
“Simexco strives to elevate the status of Vietnamese coffee in terms of quality and brand value, with the goal of establishing a 10 billion USD coffee market in Vietnam,” stated the leadership of Simexco Dak Lak.
The event expects a significant number of participants, including roasters, baristas, and consumers, both domestically and internationally. Notably, the auction has garnered the attention of coffee roasting brands from South Korea and China, which are two of the fastest-growing markets globally, with a growing interest in Vietnamese Fine Robusta.
The inaugural event and trial auction for specialty coffee held in 2023 achieved notable success. The auction saw specialty coffee prices increase by five to seven times compared to other regular coffee products on the market, further affirming the value of Vietnamese specialty coffee.
