(VAN) After strong growth in 2025, scallop exports in the first two months of 2026 continued to expand impressively, recording a triple-digit growth rate.
Vietnam’s scallop exports have been growing strongly since 2025. According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, export turnover in 2025 reached nearly $ 66 million, up 49% from $ 44 million in 2024.

This growth momentum continued and even accelerated to triple digits at the beginning of 2026. Specifically, in the first two months of the year, scallop exports reached $18.1 million, up 166% from the same period in 2025.
The export market structure for Vietnam’s scallops in 2025 shows a clear shift toward higher-value and transit markets. Notably, Japan emerged as both the fastest-growing and largest market, reaching $ 14 million, up 173%.
The United States continued to play a leading import role, with nearly $13.8 million, up 10%. Meanwhile, Hong Kong saw a sharp 142% increase, reaching nearly $9 million.
In addition, exports to several other markets recorded remarkable growth, such as South Korea (up 334%), the United Arab Emirates (up 314%), and Canada (up 167%).
In the first two months of this year, Vietnam’s scallop export market structure continued to shift toward higher-value markets, with strong growth in exports to Australia (up 11 times), Japan (nearly 5 times), Canada (nearly 24 times), and the United States (doubling).
This shows that Vietnam is rapidly becoming an important processing and transit hub in the global scallop supply chain, particularly for Japanese scallop products.
