Global coffee prices today continued to move sideways. Over the past week, the global coffee market surged, with Arabica and Robusta September 2025 contracts rising by 1.6% and 5.1%, respectively.

According to Bloomberg, U.S. consumers are facing additional cost burdens as coffee prices keep climbing under the impact of new tariffs. This move has pushed coffee futures to the strongest rally in more than a decade.

JM Smucker Co. has just announced plans to raise coffee prices in early winter to offset rising tariff costs. Roasters have already been facing higher expenses as output in Brazil and Vietnam declines. A tariff of up to 50% on shipments from Brazil to the U.S. has added further pressure.

Many roasters remain reluctant to increase prices over concerns that consumers may cut back on spending. However, businesses believe price hikes are inevitable if tariffs remain in place.
