Coffee prices on January 8 globally
Globally, both the London and New York exchanges continued their upward trend on January 8.
On the London exchange, Robusta prices for March 2025 delivery increased by $ 35 (equivalent to 0.7%), reaching $ 5,019/ton. Meanwhile, May 2025 delivery prices rose by $ 30 (equivalent to 0.61%), standing at $4,930/ton.
On the New York exchange, Arabica prices for March 2025 delivery reversed to gain 1.9 cents (equivalent to 0.6%), reaching 320.50 cents/lb. May 2025 delivery prices also increased by 1.8 cents (equivalent to 0.57%), settling at 317.30 cents/lb.

Global coffee prices increased significantly today, driven by lower-than-average rainfall in Brazil’s key Arabica-producing regions. Additionally, the strengthening of the Brazilian Real limited selling activity in the country.
According to the latest report from the International Coffee Organization (ICO), global coffee exports reached 10.86 million bags in November 2024, up from 10.6 million bags in the same period last year.
For the first two months of the 2024/25 coffee year (October 2024 to November 2024), global coffee exports totalled 21.85 million bags, an increase of 7.8% compared to 20.27 million bags in the same period of the 2023/24 coffee year.
Preliminary data from Brazil’s government indicated that green coffee exports in December fell by 17.9% year-on-year, totalling 3.365 million bags.
In India, higher prices in the international market are pushing the country’s coffee export value to a new record high.

In the domestic market, coffee prices continued to rise compared to the previous day.
In Lam Dong province, the districts of Di Linh, Bao Loc, and Lam Ha are trading at VND 121,000/kg.
In Dak Lak province, Cu M’gar district is purchasing at VND 121,500/kg, while Ea H’leo and Buon Ho districts are trading at VND 121,400/kg.
In Dak Nong province, traders in Gia Nghia and Dak R’lap are transacting at VND 121,600/kg and VND 121,500/kg, respectively.
In Gia Lai province, Chu Prong district is trading at VND 121,500/kg, while Pleiku and La Grai remain at VND 121,400/kg.
Meanwhile, Kon Tum province’s coffee purchasing price today is VND 121,500/kg.
Thus, domestic coffee prices on January 8, 2025, are trading around VND 121,000 – 121,600/kg.
