Sharing his thoughts on the Fruit Festival, Mr. Olivier Langlet, CEO of Central Retail Corporation, expressed the company’s wish to bring high-quality fruits, fruit-based products, and OCOP products from all regions of Vietnam, from the fertile Mekong Delta to the Northern provinces, to customers through its GO! supermarket, Tops Market, and Mini Go convenience store systems at the best prices.

“The festival is a bridge, connecting provinces and cities, linking tradition with innovation, and connecting farmers and families. This is an event that celebrates the abundance of Vietnamese agriculture and the people who bring that abundance to life, from orchard to table. The journey will continue, with more Vietnamese fruits reaching international consumers,” CEO of Central Retail Corporation Olivier Langlet said.

Representing the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that the 3rd Tien Giang Fruit Festival is an annual event honoring and promoting the unique cultural heritage and specialty fruits that are the pride of Tien Giang province. The festival not only demonstrates strong economic ties but also stands as a vivid testament to the enduring cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand. This relationship plays an important role in ensuring regional security and enhancing the resilience of the global supply chain.

Mr. Luu Van Phi, Director of the Tien Giang Department of Industry and Trade, said that the Fruit Festival aims to promote the richness and diversification of fruits not only in Tien Giang province but also in the Mekong Delta region in general. The event features fruits, fruit-based products, and OCOP products from Mekong Delta localities as well as several Northern provinces, creating a space for product promotion and connection.

According to Mr. Luu Van Phi, Tien Giang has a large fruit-growing area, with over 88,000 hectares of fruit trees and an annual output of more than 1.8 million tons of various fruits. Among the province’s specialty fruits are Hoa Loc mango, Co Co pomelo, Cai Lay durian, Lo Ren-Vinh Kim star apple, and Cho Gao dragon fruit.

In recent years, Tien Giang fruits has gradually built a brand for quality. The increasing value of fruits and agricultural products has significantly contributed to the province’s economic growth, job creation, improved livelihoods for farmers, the development of large-scale orchards, and a shift in thinking from agricultural production to an agricultural economy.

Tien Giang consistently identifies clear goals and directs localities to develop rural areas, focusing on large-scale goods production while emphasizing green and clean practices. The province has developed numerous distinctive products with collective trademarks and geographical indications, including Cai Lay durian, Tan Phuoc pineapple, and Cho Gao dragon fruit.

“The Fruit Festival is not merely a celebration day but a dynamic and creative space where traditional and modern values converge, where culture meets commerce, and where producers, distributors, and consumers are connected. The festival has proven effective in boosting domestic consumption, supporting farmers’ livelihoods, building the Vietnamese fruit brand, and enhancing the global presence of the country’s agricultural products,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, Deputy Director General of the Agency for Market Surveillance and Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade).
