Today’s global coffee prices show robusta surging to a one-week high, while arabica has modestly recovered from a one-month low last week.
Overall, robusta prices are being supported by weather conditions in Brazil as well as exchange rate fluctuations. The strengthening of the Brazilian real against the $, combined with drier conditions in key growing regions, is helping sustain prices in the international market.
The increase in arabica prices is more moderate due to expectations of a strong production rise in Brazil in the upcoming season. According to Reuters, agricultural consultancy Safras & Mercado forecasts Brazil’s 2026-2027 coffee crop at 75.65 million bags (60 kg each), up 17% year-on-year.
Most of this increase is expected from arabica, with output projected at 49.95 million bags, up 29% compared to the previous season.
Meanwhile, new crop sales remain slow, with farmers having sold only 14% of the expected 2026–2027 output, below the five-year average of 23%.
Thus, global coffee prices on April 15, 2026 recorded an upward adjustment across major exchanges.
