Coffee prices on May 7 globally
Global coffee prices today showed positive momentum across exchanges, supported by the Brazilian real surging to its highest level in 2.25 years against the USD, reducing export selling pressure from Brazilian coffee farmers.
On the London exchange, robusta coffee for July 2026 delivery continued to rise by 1.04% ($ 35/ton) compared to the previous session, reaching $ 3,413/ton. The September 2026 contract increased by 0.58% ($ 19/ton) to $ 3,316/ton.

Global coffee prices today marked the second consecutive day of gains, with robusta climbing to $ 3,413/ton, while arabica declined by more than 2%. Traders said optimism that the US-Iran conflict could end soon and that the Strait of Hormuz may reopen has influenced market sentiment.
The stronger Brazilian real also supported coffee prices, as the currency (USDBRL) rose to its highest level in 2.25 years against the USD. A stronger real reduces export sales from Brazilian coffee farmers.
However, optimism surrounding a possible end to the US-Iran conflict and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz also created pressure on coffee prices.
The Colombian National Federation of Coffee Growers reported that the country’s coffee exports in April reached 682,000 bags (60 kg each), down 15% from 802,000 bags recorded during the same period last year, due to heavy rainfall affecting major coffee-growing regions.
Coffee production in April declined 0.85% year-on-year to 697,000 bags.
From January to April this year, Colombia’s coffee production fell 28% to 3.21 million bags, while exports dropped 26% to 3.25 million bags compared to the same period in 2025.
Over the past 12 months, Colombia’s coffee production decreased 17% to 12.4 million bags, while exports declined 7.25% to 11.9 million bags.
Thus, global coffee prices on May 7, 2026 showed positive adjustments across major exchanges.
