Global coffee prices today showed mixed movements, with robusta marking its third consecutive session of gains while arabica declined sharply.
On the London exchange, robusta coffee for July 2026 delivery continued to rise slightly by 0.56% ($19/ton) compared to the previous session, reaching $ 3,432/ton. The September 2026 contract increased by 0.15% ($5/ton) to $ 3,321/ton. This also marked the third consecutive upward session for the robusta market.

Meanwhile, on the New York exchange, arabica coffee for July 2026 delivery fell sharply for the second straight session, dropping 3.73% (10.6 US cents/lb) to 273.25 US cents/lb. The September 2026 contract declined 3.97% (10.95 US cents/lb) to 265.15 US cents/lb.

Global coffee prices continued to move in opposite directions, with robusta posting its third consecutive gain while arabica dropped sharply to its lowest level in nearly one and a half years.
Arabica coffee closed at a two-week low amid expectations of a bumper crop in Brazil this year, easing concerns over tight supply.
Meanwhile, robusta continued to edge higher due to low inventories, although traders noted that coffee exports from Vietnam are currently higher than the same period last year, while prospects for the upcoming harvest in the world’s largest robusta producer remain positive.
According to reports from Comunicaffe, the 2026-2027 arabica coffee harvest is still progressing slowly across most regions in Brazil.
For robusta coffee, harvesting activities are gradually underway. Favorable crop development conditions for both arabica and robusta may help production reach record levels.
According to analysis by Marcelo Fraga Moreira of Archer Consulting, the coffee market continues to be supported by low global inventories. However, Brazil entering its new harvest season is beginning to create pressure on international exchanges. The analyst added that the market is closely watching whether Brazil will return as a larger supplier to export markets in the coming months.

In Vietnam, the domestic coffee market on May 8, 2026 continued to rise by VND 1,000–1,100/kg compared to the same time yesterday morning, fluctuating between VND 86,500 and VND 87,300/kg.
Specifically, coffee prices in Dak Nong increased by VND 1,100/kg, bringing purchase prices to the market-high level of VND 87,300/kg.
In Dak Lak and Gia Lai, coffee prices both rose by VND 1,000/kg to VND 87,000/kg.
Similarly, coffee prices in Lam Dong also increased by VND 1,000/kg, reaching VND 86,500/kg.
