(VAN) Beyond simply introducing organic agricultural products and foods, Festival Organic Foods 2026 aims to connect the value chain, promote transparency in certification, and expand the organic food market.
The Farmers Market retail chain, in coordination with Organicfood.vn, has opened the 2026 Organic Food Festival – Festival Organic Foods 2026.
The event is supported with information sponsorship from the Viet Nam Organic Agriculture Association (VOAA) and the German organic farmers’ association Naturland, alongside participation from numerous organic food businesses and brands.

Vo Thanh Loc, Commercial Director of Farmers Market, said that after nine years of operation, the chain has recorded a gradual increase in demand for certified organic products. Consumers are showing growing interest in quality, origin, and production methods, while producers and retailers have progressively diversified their products and improved market accessibility.
“Organic farming requires strict processes, high technical standards, a long conversion period, and substantial investment costs. Currently, organic food prices are gradually becoming more reasonable as the number of businesses entering the market increases, production scale expands, and competition among suppliers becomes more pronounced,” Loc said, adding that certification and traceability are the decisive factors in the competitiveness of organic food.
Loc expressed hope that the festival will become an annual event, helping to transform organic food from a niche product for a distinct customer segment into a more familiar choice in families’ daily meals.

As one of the organic agricultural product suppliers, Nguyen Vu Minh Quan, Director of Sunny Harvest Co., Ltd., said that bringing agricultural products into modern retail systems requires suppliers to meet strict requirements on hygiene, food safety, and input quality.
“Fertilizers must have a clear origin, and even organic fertilizers must meet relevant standards and certifications. Vegetable samples must be tested for residues and microbiological indicators such as E. coli and Salmonella,” Quan said, noting that while these requirements may add pressure in terms of cost and production processes, they are necessary conditions for ensuring product quality, controlling risk, and maintaining consumer trust.

Sharing this view, Ngo Bich Quyen, Director of Organicfood.vn, said that customers are increasingly demanding clarity and transparency. As a result, rather than simply marketing products as “cleanly grown” or “organically grown,” the company chose to pursue USDA organic certification from the outset.
According to Quyen, certification from an independent organization verifies a producer’s commitments. The assessment process does not focus solely on the final product but also examines soil, water, air, seed sources, crops, fertilizers, and the entire farming history.
Vice Chair Do Viet Ha affirmed that VOAA will accompany the event series and mobilize more than 2,000 members to participate. The association will also strengthen coordination with regulatory agencies to promote organic production, raise the value of agricultural products, control environmental impact, and move toward a circular, low-emission agriculture sector.

From the perspective of an international certification body, Albin Deforges, Naturland’s Country Director for Viet Nam, said Naturland currently has more than 100,000 farmers and farming households participating across more than 60 countries.
In Viet Nam, over the past five years, the organization has coordinated with VOAA to implement training programs and support farmers in converting to organic farming, while also bringing European organic products to Vietnamese consumers through the Farmers Market system.
Trung Bich Chi, a consumer in Tan Hung Ward, said that with two young children in her family, she prioritizes products that are good for health and that guarantee freshness and cleanliness. Organic food or fresh products that can be consumed the same day are among her top choices.
As part of this year’s festival, organizers will roll out new activities including a series of “Farm Tours” and “Factory Tours” that will take consumers and association members to visit farms and production facilities directly. In addition, plans are being finalized for a free weekend market fair in District 2, which is expected to become a regular trading space for organic farming households and businesses.
