Globally, according to data from the International Pepper Community (IPC), Indonesia’s black pepper prices continued rising for the second consecutive day on May 13, 2026, increasing by 1.08% ($ 75/ton) compared to the previous day, reaching $ 7,042/ton.
In other leading producing countries, trading prices generally remained stable. Brazil’s ASTA 570 black pepper is currently quoted at $ 6,150/ton, while Malaysian black pepper remains higher at $ 9,300/ton.
In Vietnam, export black pepper prices also stayed flat at around $6,100-6,200/ton for 500 g/l and 550 g/l grades.
At the same time of the survey, Indonesia’s Muntok white pepper price increased by 0.6% ($ 55/ton), reaching $ 9,234/ton.
Meanwhile, white pepper prices in Vietnam and Malaysia remained unchanged at $ 9,000/ton and $ 12,200/ton, respectively.
Global pepper prices on May 13 generally remained stable, while Indonesian black pepper prices continued rising for the second consecutive day.
According to statistics from the International Trade Centre (ITC), in March 2026 the United States imported 8,153 tons of pepper worth $ 61.5 million. Compared to March 2025, import volume increased by 20.9%, while compared to the previous month, import volume rose by 37.4% and import value increased by 36.7%.

Pepper prices on May 13, 2026: Prices rise in several localities.
Among suppliers, Viet Nam continued to be the largest supplier to the U.S. market with 6,008 tons, up 21.1% from the previous month and accounting for 73.7% of total U.S. pepper imports during the month. Brazil ranked second with 661 tons, surging 1,101.8% compared to February. It was followed by Indonesia with 631 tons, up 115.4%, and India with 614 tons, up 34.6% from the previous month.
Cumulatively, in the first three months of 2026, the United States imported 21,497 tons of pepper worth $ 163.3 million, down slightly by 0.4% in volume but up 2.7% in value compared to the same period in 2025.
Viet Nam maintained its position as the largest supplier in the first quarter with 16,781 tons, up 28.7% and accounting for 78.1% of total U.S. pepper imports.
Meanwhile, imports from Indonesia dropped sharply by 66.4% to 1,519 tons, while imports from India fell by 29.5% to 1,537 tons.
Thus, global pepper prices on May 13, 2026 recorded a slight upward trend compared to the previous day.

Vietnam’s domestic pepper market on the morning of May 13 fluctuated within the range of VND 141,500-144,000/kg, with slight increases of VND 500/kg in several localities.
Meanwhile, pepper prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong (Lam Dong) remained stable at VND 144,000/kg.
Pepper prices in Dak Lak are currently being purchased at the highest level of VND 144,000/kg.
Pepper prices in Dak Nong (Lam Dong province) are also being purchased at VND 144,000/kg.
Pepper prices in Gia Lai increased by VND 500 and are currently trading at VND 141,500/kg, the lowest level in the region.
Traders in Dong Nai are trading pepper at VND 143,000/kg.
Pepper prices in Ba Ria-Vung Tau (Ho Chi Minh City region) rose by VND 500/kg and are currently trading at VND 143,000/kg.
Meanwhile, traders in Binh Phuoc (Dong Nai province) are trading pepper at VND 143,000/kg.
