(VAN) Fi Vietnam 2026 has brought together more than 300 global brands, opening up opportunities for technological breakthroughs and higher added value in Viet Nam’s food and beverage industry.

On the morning of May 13, the International Exhibition on Food Ingredients, Flavorings and Additives – Fi Viet Nam 2026 officially opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center.

The event is the largest edition ever organized by Informa Markets, with support from numerous domestic and international industry associations. More than just a trade exhibition, Fi Viet Nam 2026 serves as a platform for innovation, ingredient sourcing and updates on emerging food technology trends across ASEAN.

This year’s exhibition features more than 300 brands and is expected to welcome around 9,000 trade visitors from over 40 countries and territories.

According to Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department, Ho Chi Minh City’s food and beverage industry has seen strong growth in recent years, helping meet domestic demand while supporting exports. Trade promotion events such as Fi Viet Nam are creating opportunities for local and international businesses to expand cooperation, access new technologies and improve competitiveness.

“As consumers become more concerned about product quality, food safety is no longer just a mandatory requirement but also a key factor shaping corporate reputation and sustainable growth”, she said.

From the industry association perspective, Ms. Ly Kim Chi, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association (FFA), noted that the food sector is shifting from competing on output to competing on quality and added value. In that transition, ingredients and product formulations have become central to business competitiveness.

“Fi Viet Nam is not only a venue to showcase new technologies and solutions, but also a starting point for ideas, formulations and trends that will shape the future of the food industry”, she said.

The chairwoman of the FFA hopes that the exhibition will help Vietnamese companies connect with reputable international partners, improve product quality, flavor and pricing, and move toward more sustainable exports and higher food safety standards.

According to Mr. Ben Wong, General Manager of Informa Markets Viet Nam, Viet Nam is emerging as one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic growth markets thanks to its expanding economy, rapidly growing middle class and deep integration into global trade networks.

He added that Viet Nam is not only a promising consumer market but is also steadily becoming an important manufacturing and export hub for the regional food and beverage industry.

Against this backdrop, Fi Viet Nam 2026 serves as a meeting point for the global F&B ingredient community, creating opportunities for innovation and commercial partnerships between domestic and international businesses.

This year’s exhibition features a strong presence of international pavilions from Japan, South Korea, China, India and Thailand. In addition to natural ingredients, exhibitors are also showcasing solutions related to health ingredients, functional foods and new beverage applications.

Consumers are also demanding greater transparency, traceability and more reliable scientific claims. Photo: Nguyen Thuy.

More than 60 conferences and specialized seminars will be held throughout the exhibition, covering topics such as food safety, health supplements, functional ingredients, Halal foods, plant-based diets and beverage development trends.

During the three-day event, businesses and visitors will gain access to a wide range of technological solutions, from ingredients and additives to functional foods and alternative products, all aimed at building a more sustainable food and beverage supply chain that can meet rising market demands. The exhibition is also expected to support Viet Nam’s ambition to become a new food ingredient hub in Southeast Asia.
