Global coffee prices declined on Tuesday, with arabica hitting a 19-month low and robusta falling to its lowest level in two months. The main pressure came from Brazil’s ongoing harvest, which is expected to deliver a bumper crop.
Last Wednesday, the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) forecast Brazil’s 2026-2027 coffee production at a record 71.9 million bags, up 14% from the previous season.
From a global perspective, Reuters cited the latest Rabobank report, which indicated that the coffee market could move into a more pronounced surplus during the 2026-2027 season, potentially reaching 9.5 million bags. Most of the increase is expected to come from stronger arabica production in Brazil. Rabobank estimates global coffee production could reach around 182.3 million bags, compared with approximately 172.6 million bags in the previous season.

ICE-certified arabica inventories fell to 412,422 bags as of June 8, the lowest level in six months. Meanwhile, ICE-certified robusta inventories dropped to a two-year low of 3,631 lots on May 15 before edging up slightly to 3,732 lots, still remaining near historically low levels.
Traders also noted that the return of El Niño to Vietnam, expected from July onward, may have only a limited impact on coffee production because coffee trees primarily require irrigation during the dry season from January to April.
Thus, global coffee prices on June 10, 2026 recorded declines across major exchanges compared with the previous day.
