The event was held as part of the programme “East-West Southern Region Trade Connectivity – Women Entrepreneurs Gathering and Spreading Sustainable Values.” It brought together a wide range of women entrepreneurs, enterprises, experts, and representatives from business associations across the country.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Bui Thi Hai Yen, Vice Chairwoman of the Viet Nam Women Entrepreneurs Council, stated that the Eastern and Western Southern regions are strategically important areas with significant potential in agriculture, fisheries, and economic development. However, unlocking higher value-added growth requires effectively addressing two key challenges: trade promotion and logistics optimization. The programme is designed to support sustainable development in trade, logistics, processing industries, high-tech agriculture, and import-export activities.
“The seminar is not only a platform for knowledge sharing but also a starting point for practical business transactions, regional partnerships, and value-chain linkages that can enhance competitiveness and promote sustainable business development,” Ms. Hai Yen emphasized.

At the seminar, participants focused on discussing opportunities for regional cooperation, supply chain development, digital technology adoption, product traceability, and solutions to improve logistics efficiency amid deepening international economic integration.
Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director General of the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, noted that the Vietnamese women entrepreneur community has continued to grow in both scale and capability, making significant contributions to economic growth and export development. According to him, Vietnamese businesses are well positioned to benefit from new-generation free trade agreements, global supply chain shifts, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy.
Mr. Phu emphasized that alongside improvements in product quality, Viet Nam’s reputation and standing in international markets have strengthened considerably. This has created favorable conditions for enterprises to expand into new markets, enhance brand value, and integrate more deeply into global supply chains.

On the sidelines of the event, participating businesses showcased a variety of OCOP products, regional specialties, and innovative startup products. Ms. Vo Thi Phuong Trang, owner of Ut Tay Traditional Craft Distillery in Tan Binh Commune, Can Tho City, said the company introduced five groups of traditional liquor products that have been recognized as national five-star OCOP products, along with several new herbal-based offerings.
According to Ms. Trang, trade connectivity activities provide valuable opportunities for businesses to identify partners, expand markets, secure raw material sources, and build more effective production and business linkages. “The programme offers a very level playing field for enterprises. Those who actively seize opportunities and engage in networking can unlock many new avenues for growth,” she said.
Representing the co-organizing unit, Ms. Ta Thi Thu, Chairwoman of the Can Tho Women Entrepreneurs Association, said the local business community hopes to use the programme as a platform to promote Can Tho’s image, culture, cuisine, and economic potential to enterprises and partners from across the country.

According to Ms. Thu, many delegates visiting Can Tho for the first time expressed surprise at the locality’s potential and strengths. This also serves as motivation for the Can Tho Women Entrepreneurs Association to further promote its role as a bridge, fostering trade and business connectivity in the coming period.
Within the framework of the programme, business matchmaking activities, product exhibitions, and cooperation signing ceremonies were also held, contributing to the expansion of regional linkages, enhanced competitiveness, and the goal of sustainable development for the business community in the Eastern and Western Southern regions as well as across Viet Nam.
