Global coffee prices recorded a steep decline, with Arabica falling by as much as 4%. The main driver was the depreciation of the Brazilian real against the U.S. dollar, encouraging Brazilian farmers and exporters to increase sales. This prompted investors to accelerate profit-taking, putting significant pressure on the coffee futures market.

According to Reuters, arabica coffee futures on the ICE Exchange gave up most of the previous session’s gains. However, prices continued to receive support from limited short-term supplies, as Brazil’s harvest has progressed more slowly than a year earlier and certified ICE inventories have continued to decline. As of July 28, certified coffee stocks had fallen to nearly 290,000 bags, down sharply from more than 328,000 bags a week earlier and well below the level recorded during the same period last year.

Latest domestic and global coffee prices on July 30, 2026

Persistent rainfall across Brazil’s coffee-growing regions has disrupted harvesting and deliveries. Cooxupé reported that, as of July 24, farmers had harvested only 58.3% of the 2026 crop, significantly behind the 67.1% recorded during the same period last year.

Industry experts have also raised concerns about bean quality, as high humidity increases the risk of fermentation, fruit drop, and unusually early flowering. Nevertheless, many analysts believe current weather conditions are unlikely to have a significant impact on total production.

Several organizations still forecast that Brazil could produce a record crop of more than 75 million 60-kg bags this year, supported by favorable soil moisture conditions that are expected to benefit upcoming flowering and fruit-setting stages.

Thus, global coffee prices on July 30, 2026 weakened compared with the previous trading session.
